Tether (USDT) is now available on Bitpanda

We’re now offering our first stablecoin as a new asset class. Tether (USDT) is the most popular stablecoin in terms of volume, and Bitpanda users can now buy, sell, deposit, send and swap it.

Unlike cryptocurrencies, whose price fluctuates, a stablecoin such as Tether (USDT) tries to hold its value around a specific asset. In this case, the value of 1 USDT is supposed to stay at around 1 US Dollar.

What can I do with Tether on Bitpanda?

You can buy, sell, deposit, send and swap Tether on Bitpanda.

Buy and sell

You can easily buy Tether or sell Tether by using our Fiat Wallet feature.

Deposit

You can also deposit Tether from other exchanges on to your Bitpanda account.

Send

You can also send your Tether from Bitpanda to external services.

Swap

Once you’re holding Tether on your Bitpanda account, you can quickly and easily swap it with Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum and any other cryptocurrency and digital asset available on Bitpanda.

Tip: By using Bitpanda Swap you pay less fees than if you do the trades individually. Learn more about the benefits of Bitpanda Swap.

ERC20 or Omni?

On Bitpanda we use the ERC20 integration of Tether, which means that you can only send and deposit ERC20-based Tether (USDT).

  • If you try to send Tether from your Bitpanda Wallet to an external Omni-based Tether wallet you’ll receive an error message and no Tether will leave your Bitpanda Wallet
  • If you have sent Omni-based Tether to our ERC20-based Tether Wallet, please contact the exchange or wallet provider you’ve sent from

Troubleshooting

Keep in mind that Tether (USDT) and USD are two different things, which is why you won’t see Tether (USDT) in your Fiat Wallet. To find your Tether (USDT) Wallet navigate to Wallets and scroll down to My Portfolio.
