How to verify?

Verifying your identity on Bitpanda only takes a few minutes. But before you start, please ensure the following:

1
You have a stable Internet connection
2
Your desktop webcam or smartphone camera is activated
3
You are in a quiet, well-lit environment
4
You have an accepted identity document to hand

Under UK law, the Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulations 2017 (MLR 2017) requires Bitpanda UK to collect a minimum amount of information to identify and verify customers.

This is part of the Know Your Customer (KYC) process and helps to prevent money laundering and terrorist financing.

Note: If you're a new customer, you will be asked to complete this verification when signing up. If you created your Bitpanda account before 1 August 2025 and want to continue using the platform or access your funds, you must also complete the verification process.

I’m verified. What now?

It may take a few minutes until your verification becomes active on your account. Once active, you will be required to follow the next steps outlined below before you can start investing in over 600 digital assets, taking your financial future into your own hands.

1

What to expect
You will be asked a few brief questions regarding:
  • Your current employment status and industry.
  • Your primary source of wealth (e.g., salary, savings, inheritance).
  • Your intended investment volume on the platform.
!

2
Appropriateness AssessmentUK regulations require all crypto firms to ensure that investors understand the risks of crypto-assets.
The Assessment details
The Assessment: You will complete a short multiple-choice quiz designed to test your knowledge of crypto volatility.

Important: If you do not pass on your first attempt, you will be required to wait 24 hours before trying again. Take your time to read the provided educational materials before starting.
3
24-Hour Cooling-Off PeriodOnce you have successfully passed your ID verification and the Appropriateness Assessment, a mandatory 24-hour cooling-off period begins.
What this means
