Our Austrian users can access a dedicated tax report directly in their Bitpanda account. Accessing your tax report on Bitpanda provides a comprehensive overview of your cryptocurrency transactions for tax purpose. This guide details how you can access and download your tax report.
Note: If you are not tax resident in Austria, you can download statements and your transaction history to support your own tax reporting.
Quick overview
Tax reports are currently available for Austrian users only. If you are not from Austria, you can use statements, transaction history and third-party tax tools instead.
Accessing your tax report (Austrian users only)
- Log in: Access your Bitpanda account by clicking here.
- Open your profile: Once logged in, navigate to your profile, where you can find various options.
- Navigate to Reports: In your profile, select Reports and Statements.
- Select Tax Reports: Choose Tax Reports.
- Download PDF: Select the relevant year and download the report as a PDF.
Note: Tax reports from 2024 onwards are available in the "Reports and Statements" section. You receive one report per year, each covering the previous calendar year.
Report availability for Austrian users
- For Last Year: The tax report is already available in your account under 'Reports and Statements'.
- For This Year: The report is available in February of the next year.
- Coverage Period: If your tax report covers only a specific timeframe (a few months instead of the whole year), it is because you were registered in Austria during that period. If you moved afterward, the report will only cover the period up to your relocation.
These reports ensure you meet your Austrian tax obligations efficiently and help manage your crypto assets effectively.
Understanding your Austrian tax report
Your tax report provides a structured overview of your crypto-related activities for Austrian tax purposes, including:
A summary of taxable gains and losses resulting from your transactions, helping you understand your taxable events.
Information on assets subject to lump-sum taxation, which needs to be corrected in your tax return.
List of usable capital gains and losses, which can be applied to net against other eligible taxes.
