1. Do I need a Bitpanda account to use the wallet?
No, but connecting your Bitpanda account unlocks extra features like sponsored gas fees, one-click onboarding, and Bitpanda Backup.
2. Is this a custodial wallet?
No. You remain in full control of your keys and assets. It’s 100% self-custodial with an optional backup for peace of mind.
3. What networks are supported?
Vision Wallet supports a wide range of assets on the SVM (Solana) chain. This integration comes out of the box and doesn’t require any complex bridging or manual configuration.
4. What happens if I lose access to my wallet?
If you’ve enabled Bitpanda Backup, you can recover your wallet with one click. If not, you’ll need your seed phrase.
5. How does Bitpanda Backup work?
Your seed is divided into two encrypted shards. One part is held by Bitpanda, the other is saved in your cloud (iCloud/GDrive).
To restore your wallet, you simply log into your Bitpanda account on the Vision Wallet mobile app. After successful authentication, the app retrieves the key from Bitpanda and the encrypted seed from your cloud. It then decrypts and restores your wallet—entirely on your device. This method ensures that no one, not even Bitpanda, can access your funds alone, and it offers stronger protection than a traditional seed phrase backup.
6. Is the wallet secure?
Yes. It’s protected by Bitpanda’s high-security standards and built for onchain safety. We manually vet the protocols that we integrate.
7. How do you ensure best-price execution?
We route trades through multiple liquidity sources to give you the most efficient swap possible at the time.
8. How do I get started?
Download the wallet, create or import a wallet, and optionally connect your Bitpanda account for extra features. You’ll be ready to explore Web3 in minutes.
9. Is it possible to “import” wallets by seedphrase?
Imports only work for the Bitpanda Vision Wallet at the moment, but we are considering building a tool that makes it easier to move an external wallet into our app.
10. Can I stake in the wallet?
Staking rewards in the Web3 app work differently from those provided on Bitpanda.com. Since the Web3 app functions as a self-managed wallet, you stake your VSN directly on the blockchain within a staking pool 🔗. When you stake your VSN, they are converted into sVSN (staked Vision), which represents your share of the total staking pool according to a specific ratio. Because sVSN holds a different value from VSN, you will see a different amount of sVSN compared to VSN.
Over time, the total amount of VSN in the staking pool increases, while the number of sVSN you hold remains constant. This reflects that, each sVSN becomes more valuable, representing a greater share of the VSN pool. This is how your investment grows and how the return is reflected.
You can always view the current conversion rate from VSN to sVSN at https://app.vision.now/staking
This ratio will continue to change over time to reflect the increasing value of sVSN. When you decide to unstake, your sVSN will be exchanged back based on the current conversion rate, meaning you will receive more VSN than you initially staked.
11. Is the wallet available on mobile and desktop?
Currently, the wallet is available as a mobile app.
12. What happens if I don’t enable backup?
You’ll still have full control, but you’ll be solely responsible for storing and securing your recovery phrase.
13. Can I connect the wallet to dApps?
Our philosophy here is a “walled garden approach” - it will be possible to connect to dApps in a future version, but likely not through regular wallet connect. Instead, we will offer a Web3 Discovery section, where applications are curated and can be accessed directly from the app in order to mitigate the risk of users getting scammed or hacked.
