As of January 2026, your tax number (also DNI for locals or NIE for foreign residents) is mandatory on your Bitpanda account under the DAC8 regulation in Europe.
This is a 8-digit number finished by a control letter assigned to each taxpayer.
How can I find my Tax Identification Number (TIN)?
- You can find your personal number (DNI or NIE) on your national ID or residence permit. You will find some examples below.
- Electronic Identity Card
- Foreigner's resident card
- Driving License
- You will also receive an enclosed letter with an electronic code to verify the authenticity of your TIN into the National Tax Agency's (Agencia Tributaria) website.
