As of January 2026, your tax number (called NINO or National Insurance Number in the United Kingdom) is mandatory on your Bitpanda account under the DAC8 regulation in Europe.
This is a 9-digit number assigned to each taxpayer (under the format: 2 letters, 6 numbers and 1 letter)
How can I find my Tax Identification Number (TIN)?
- If you have a UK citizenship, you will find your NINO in your coding notice, sent by the HRMC.
- It can also appear on:
- Your pay slip (in case you are an employee)
- The HRMC app if you live in the UK
- Your Apple or Google Wallet if you saved it there.
- If you do not have access to your NINO, you can go to the website governmental site and check if you are eligible to receive one or not.
