Moving to Bitpanda UK: What you need to know

If you're a UK resident with a Bitpanda account, your account is being moved to our dedicated UK platform operated by Bitpanda Broker UK Ltd. This article explains what you need to know about the migration, what changes on the new platform, and important deadlines.

Who does this apply to?

You need to move your account to the new UK platform if:

  • You are ordinarily resident in the UK
  • You currently have a Bitpanda account

How to complete your migration

Moving to the new platform is simple and secure. Here's what you'll need to do:

1
Read and accept the new terms and conditions
2
Verify your account — You'll need to verify your ID and UK address, and answer a few questions about your funds and investment goals
3
Complete a 24-hour cool-off period — This is required by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to give you time to consider the risks involved
4
Pass the appropriateness test — A short test required by the FCA to check your understanding of cryptoasset investing

Once completed, you'll be able to trade cryptoassets on our UK platform as normal.

What's different on the UK platform?

Assets no longer supported

To comply with UK regulations, the following asset types are not available on the UK platform:

  • Stocks and ETFs
  • Commodities and precious metals
  • Certain cryptoassets (see full list below)

You will still have access to over 600 cryptoassets — the largest offering in the UK.

Currencies temporarily unavailable

The following currencies are temporarily not supported on the UK platform but will be re-introduced in the near future:

  • USD, EUR, CHF, DKK, HUF, PLN, and SEK
Bitpanda Cash Plus

Bitpanda Cash Plus is not available on the UK platform. If you had funds in Cash Plus, they have been returned to your main fiat wallet.

Savings Plans

Previous Savings Plans were stopped as part of the platform transition. You can now set up new Savings Plans for your preferred cryptoassets on the UK platform.

Unsupported cryptoassets

The following cryptoassets are not supported on the UK platform for regulatory reasons. If you hold any of these assets, you can sell them or swap them to other supported assets.

Any unsupported assets in your portfolio can still be sold or swapped to supported cryptoassets. Make sure to complete this before the deadline.

If you choose not to migrate, you will remain on the previous platform (Bitpanda GmbH) where you can still:

  • Trade crypto
  • Deposit and withdraw via bank transfer to an account in your own name
  • Sell your unsupported assets or swap them to crypto

The 1 February 2026 deadline applies whether you migrate or not.

Payment changes for UK users

UK regulatory rules mean you can only withdraw fiat to a bank account in your name. There's no minimum withdrawal amount, so even a few pounds can be withdrawn.
