How can I send my cryptocurrencies?

This article explains how to send cryptocurrencies and gives you valuable insights on the minimum transaction amounts and important requirements to consider when withdrawing cryptocurrencies (i.e. memo, destination tag, message).

Sending cryptocurrencies

To send your cryptocurrencies from Bitpanda to another wallet follow these steps:

Desktop Mobile App (Android) Mobile App (iOS)
  1. Log in to your account and click on Send in the top right corner
  2. Select the cryptocurrency and wallet you want to send from
  3. Then enter the address you want to send to, or choose from your existing contacts
  4. In the next step you can choose the amount
  5. In the last step you see a summary. If everything is correct, click on Send now
  6. You will receive a confirmation email. After clicking Confirm Transaction, the process will be completed

Note: Unfortunately, cryptocurrency transactions cannot be reversed and we cannot refund them either.

Transaction amount too low

Please make sure that you never send the coins of one cryptocurrency to an address of another cryptocurrency. Otherwise, these coins will definitely be lost. Furthermore, please note our minimum withdrawal amounts and transaction costs and used address formats.

Please note that Bitcoin and Ethereum (as well as ERC20 tokens) are not designed for small transactions. If these small transactions were processed, the majority of the amount in the transaction would be spent on blockchain network fees.

If your withdrawals are disabled:

  • Please check if the asset is in trade only mode or in maintenance
  • Please check if you have received an email from us regarding proof of funds
  • It could be for security reasons, as there might be proactive action needed from your side first

If your withdrawals are not disabled, but the transaction needs to be manually checked, we will email you if any action is needed once you have confirmed the transaction via the confirmation email. Otherwise, we kindly ask for your patience.

Bitcoin (BTC) withdrawals

A withdrawal of Bitcoin might take longer than the confirmation of other cryptocurrency transactions. This circumstance is caused by the environment of the network. If you received the transaction ID (hash) of the Bitcoin transaction, you can check the status in the Blockchain Explorer.

If the status of the transaction is “Unconfirmed Transaction” in the Blockchain Explorer you have to wait for the first confirmation from the network and there is nothing else that can currently be done from your side. The waiting time can take up to an hour or more depending on the workload of the Bitcoin network and on the time of the next found block.

Ethereum (ETH) withdrawals

Before sending Ethereum from your Bitpanda wallet, you will receive and need to accept the following notice:

“I am not investing in an ICO. I understand that Bitpanda will not be able to credit any issued tokens to my ETH wallet!”

Should you send ETH and receive the error message “out of gas” for your transaction in the Blockchain Explorer, please contact us.

ERC20 token withdrawals

Please do not withdraw tokens that are not officially supported by your prefered external wallet via a full wallet (deposit and withdraw). If you do so, these tokens will be lost and are not refundable by the provider of the external wallet depending on their policy for handling ERC20 tokens.

Take a look at what you need to consider when depositing specific ERC20 tokens to your Bitpanda wallet.

Dash (DASH) withdrawals

We only allow normal Dash transactions as a withdrawal. The options PrivateSend and InstantSend are not supported by us.

Ripple (XRP) withdrawals

If you need a destination tag when sending Ripple, do not forget to include it, otherwise, the recipient cannot assign the transaction.

If you can’t withdraw less than 20 XRP, please check if the address is activated. Ripple addresses have to be activated through a deposit of at least 20 XRP. Afterwards, the balance of Ripple addresses also can't fall below that threshold. Please be aware of those values when making a withdrawal to an external wallet. Those rules are made by the Ripple network and Bitpanda therefore has no influence over them.

Stellar (XLM) withdrawals

If you need a memo when sending Stellar, do not forget to include it, otherwise, the recipient cannot assign the transaction.

For Stellar withdrawals, you can choose whether you want to use Memo ID or Memo Text. In case of a transfer to other services (i.e. exchanges), please check which Memo type is required by the recipient and add it to your transaction.

NEM (XEM) withdrawals

If you need a Message when sending XEM, do not forget to include it and do not send the Message encrypted, otherwise, the recipient cannot assign the transaction.

EOS (EOS) withdrawals

If you need a Memo when sending EOS, do not forget to include it, otherwise, the recipient cannot assign the transaction.

ZCash (ZEC) withdrawals

We only allow non-private Zcash transactions as a withdrawal. Additionally, please do not deposit from a private address (z-address). If you do so, your funds will be lost.

Cosmos (ATOM) withdrawals

If you need a Memo when sending Cosmos, do not forget to include it, otherwise, the recipient cannot assign the transaction.

Take a look at what you need to consider when depositing Cosmos (ATOM) to your Bitpanda wallet.
