Withdraw cryptocurrencies

Learn how to send cryptocurrencies from Bitpanda to external wallets and about the important requirements when doing so (i.e. Minimum transaction costs, Memos, Destination Tags, Messages).

How to withdraw?

  1. Inside your Bitpanda account, under Trade, click on Send, and find the respective asset
    1. Alternatively, you can directly select the asset in your portfolio and click on Send
  2. Choose the network you want to withdraw or send to 
  3. Enter the wallet address you want to withdraw to, or scan the address’ QR code
  4. If required, enter the additional information, such as a memo or destination tag
  5. Choose an amount above the minimum transaction amount and click on Go to summary
  6. Read the displayed information carefully and click on Continue
  7. In the transaction summary, check one last time that everything is correct, and click on Confirm

You will receive a confirmation email. After clicking Confirm Transaction there, it is being processed by the respective blockchain

When will my transaction arrive?

It usually only takes a few minutes. But withdrawal times can differ depending on the cryptocurrency and the amount of traffic on the blockchain. In the case of Bitcoin, it can even take up to two hours or more.

How do I check my transaction?

Once your withdrawal has been successful, it will show a green Finished label. But you can also check its status directly on the blockchain by clicking on the Transaction ID in your Transaction history.

Additional Information

Important! Your coins will be lost if you do not consider the following information in your withdrawal. In such a case, there is nothing we can do to recover them due to the nature of blockchain technology.

 

Ethereum & ERC20

Do not withdraw to Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs)!

Bitpanda will not be able to credit any issued tokens from so-called Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) to your ETH wallet.


Out of Gas

If you see the error message “out of gas” in the Blockchain Explorer, please contact us.


(DASH)

We only allow normal Dash transactions as a withdrawal. The options “PrivateSend” and “InstantSend” are not supported by us.


Ripple (XRP)

Always include the correct Destination Tag otherwise your coins will be lost!

When withdrawing Ripple (XRP) a so-called Destination Tag is required. Please check which Destination Tag is requested by the recipient. Make sure to enter the correct one at Bitpanda when withdrawing, otherwise your coins will be irreversibly lost on the Ripple blockchain.

If you cannot withdraw, please check if the address is activated. For Ripple addresses to be activated, you need to deposit at least 20 XRP. In the aftermath of a Ripple transaction, the address balance also cannot fall below that threshold, which you should be aware of before making a withdrawal to an external wallet. Please note that these rules are determined by the Ripple network itself and that Bitpanda has no influence over them.


Stellar (XLM)

Always include the correct Memo otherwise your coins will be lost!

When withdrawing Stellar (XLM) a so-called Memo is required. Please check which Memo type is requested by the recipient. This can be either Memo ID or Memo Text. Make sure to enter the correct one at Bitpanda when withdrawing, otherwise your coins will be irreversibly lost on the Stellar blockchain.


NEM (XEM)

Always include the correct Message otherwise your coins will be lost!

When withdrawing NEM (XEM) a so-called Message is required. Please check which Message is requested by the recipient. Make sure to enter the correct one at Bitpanda when withdrawing and do not send the Message encrypted, otherwise your coins will be irreversibly lost on the NEM blockchain.

 

EOS (EOS)

Always include the correct Memo otherwise your coins will be lost!

When withdrawing EOS (EOS) a so-called Memo is required. Please check which Memo is requested by the recipient. Make sure to enter the correct one at Bitpanda when withdrawing, otherwise your coins will be irreversibly lost on the EOS blockchain.


ZCash (ZEC)

We only allow non-private Zcash transactions for withdrawals.


Cosmos (ATOM)

Always include the correct Memo otherwise your coins will be lost!

When withdrawing Cosmos (ATOM) a so-called Memo is required. Please check which Memo is requested by the recipient. Make sure to enter the correct one at Bitpanda when withdrawing, otherwise your coins will be irreversibly lost on the Cosmos blockchain.

 

Bitcoin Cash (BCH)

Do not withdraw to Bitcoin Legacy or Bitcoin wallets otherwise your coins will be lost!

Only withdraw to Bitcoin Cash (BCH) addresses. Withdrawing BCH to Bitcoin Legacy or other Bitcoin wallets may result in a loss of your funds.

 

Neo (NEO)

Only use NEO 3 addresses, otherwise your coins will be lost!

Please note that we do not support NEO Legacy withdrawals. Only use NEO 3 addresses, otherwise your coins will be irreversibly lost on the blockchain.

 

Waves (WAVES)

Please note that we do not support WAVES alias withdrawals.


Avalanche (AVAX)

We only support AVAX X-Chain withdrawals. Do not use any other networks (C-Chain, P-Chain, etc.) or your coins will be irreversibly lost on the blockchain.


Binance Coin (BNB)

Only use the native BNB Smart Chain Network, otherwise your coins will be lost!

We only support Binance Coin withdrawals through the native BNB Smart Chain Network (BSC), so please do not use any other network or your coins will be irreversibly lost on the blockchain.


Dogecoin (DOGE)

Coins withdraw to multi-signature addresses starting with “9” will be refunded

Dogecoin (DOGE) addresses starting with "9" are multi-signature addresses which are not supported for withdrawals. Therefore, any withdrawals made to DOGE multi-signature addresses will be cancelled and the amount will be refunded.


USDC Coin (USDC)

Bitpanda supports sending only native USDC (Contract Address: 0x3c499c542cEF5E3811e1192ce70d8cC03d5c3359) on Polygon network. Please ensure your chosen destination (e.g. exchange, broker or self-hosted wallets) supports this asset.
