What is an anti-phishing code and why is it important?

An anti-phishing code is a personalised security feature designed to protect you from phishing attempts. When you set up an anti-phishing code, it appears in all official communications from Bitpanda, such as emails and SMS messages. This helps you verify that the message is indeed from Bitpanda and not from a fraudulent source trying to steal your personal information. By using an anti-phishing code, you can enhance the security of your account and prevent phishing attacks.

 

How to set up your anti-phishing code

To set up your anti-phishing code on Bitpanda, follow these steps:

Desktop

  1. Log in to your Bitpanda account
  2. Go to your profile by clicking on your user icon at the top right corner of the screen
  3. Select Password & security from the menu
  4. Find the Anti-phishing code section and click on the Set up button
  5. Create your personalised anti-phishing code. 
    1. Your code must be between 4 and 20 characters long, cannot include special characters or numbers, and must be different from your password

  1. If you have Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) enabled, you will need to enter the code generated by your 2FA app. If you do not have 2FA enabled, you will receive a verification code via SMS.

Mobile

  1. Log in to your Bitpanda account
  2. Go to your profile by clicking on your user icon at the bottom right corner of the navigation bar
  3. Select Password & security from the menu
  4. Click on Anti-phishing code 
  5. Set up your personalised anti-phishing code 
    1. Your code must be between 4 and 20 characters long, cannot include special characters or numbers, and must be different from your password
  6. If you have Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) enabled, you will need to enter the code generated by your 2FA app. If you do not have 2FA enabled, you will receive a verification code via SMS.

 

Once your anti-phishing code is set up, it will be displayed in all official direct communication from Bitpanda, such as emails and SMS messages.

 

 

By regularly updating your anti-phishing code, you can maintain a higher level of security for your Bitpanda account.

I need to change my anti-phishing code. What do I do?

If you need to change your anti-phishing code, you can follow the same steps as you would to create a code.

I’ve forgotten my anti-phishing code. What now?

If you need to consult your anti-phishing code, you can find it in your account under “Security”, in the anti-phishing section.
