Delete your Bitpanda Account

You can close your Bitpanda account either in the mobile app or by submitting a secure request form (login required). This article walks you through both options and important requirements. Important Notes

1. Pre-deletion Checklist

Please complete the following actions before requesting account deletion:

Empty your balance If your balance is more than €10 (or equivalent), please withdraw your crypto or fiat funds.
Tip: If your balance is below the €10 withdrawal minimum, you can deposit a small amount to top up your balance and meet the threshold.

Clear open activity Cancel any open orders or recurring buys, and wait for any pending transfers to fully settle.

Download your history We highly recommend downloading your full account history for your personal tax records or financial history.
✓
Stop trading Do not make new deposits or trades after confirming your deletion request. Any funds sent after this point cannot be recovered or refunded.
Thinking of returning? If you think you might use Bitpanda again in the future, consider keeping your account open instead. There are no account maintenance fees, and it saves you from having to go through the verification process again later.

2. Data Privacy & Legal Retention

As a fully regulated financial institution, Bitpanda is legally required to retain certain account and transaction records for 10 years after official closure.

This data is kept strictly to comply with Austrian regulatory, tax, and anti-money laundering frameworks (specifically FM-GwG, BAO, and UGB).

While your account will be deactivated and entirely inaccessible to you, your personal details remain absolutely safe. Your data is isolated inside an encrypted, access-restricted database protected by advanced technical measures fully compliant with GDPR standards. 3. Returning to Bitpanda in the Future

If you ever decide to start trading with us again in the future, please keep these two important rules in mind:

Do not create a new profile

Our security network is built to automatically block duplicate registrations. If you attempt to sign up again from scratch, our system will stop your registration.

Easy account reactivation

You can securely reopen your original account at any time.
