Missing payment reference (SEPA deposits)

Note: If your bank supports SEPA Instant, transfers up to EUR 100,000 arrive within minutes. Otherwise it might take 1-3 business days. Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays do not count as working days for banks. Furthermore, Austrian public holidays may differ from holidays in other countries.

Tip: For SEPA Instant to work, please make sure to first select the SEPA Instant field on Bitpanda and then toggle the “Instant Transfer” switch in your banking app when making your payment.

When you make a deposit using SEPA as the payment method, please ensure that you fill in all the necessary fields carefully.

Note: For bank transfers (SEPA), it is important to include the Payment reference, otherwise your payment cannot be assigned to your account.

Deposits to our current Bitpanda bank account

If you have made a bank transfer to the bank account we use currently (IBAN ending in 4672) and forgot to include, or used the wrong Payment reference, your funds will be refunded automatically to the bank account you made the transfer from. Please note that this might take up to 7 business days. If you have not received your funds after 7 business days, please contact your bank.

If your bank confirms that they have not received the refund, please contact us and send us a photo of your bank statement showing the following details:

  • Your IBAN which you made the payment from 
  • Your full name 
  • The amount you sent 
  • The date the transfer was made

Furthermore, please make sure to send us the transfer data as a PDF export and additionally as text.

Tip: To avoid this from happening in the future, please always include the provided Payment reference in your bank transfer reference field.

If you have made a bank transfer to the bank account we currently use (IBAN ending in 4672) and forgot to include, or used the wrong Payment reference, but you have deposited using the same IBAN in the past and provided your Payment reference, any future deposits without a Payment reference using the same IBAN can be credited to your account. However, to reduce potential delays or refunds, please always make sure to use your Payment reference.

Tip: If you suspect that the Payment reference was not correctly added or your bank will not allow you to enter a Payment reference, please reach out to your bank. Certain banks use different terminology to define a payment reference, which might have been the reason why we could not assign the deposit to your account.

Deposits to old Bitpanda bank accounts or our Swiss franc (CHF) bank account

If you have made a deposit to our old bank accounts (IBANs ending in 1250 or 8803) or a deposit to our Swiss franc (CHF) bank account (IBAN ending in K000C) and forgot to include, or used the wrong Payment reference, and the deposit has not been credited after 3 business days, please contact us and send us a photo of the bank statement showing the following details: 

  • Your IBAN which you made the payment from 
  • Your full name 
  • The amount you sent 
  • The date the transfer was made

Furthermore, please make sure to send us the transfer data as a PDF export and additionally as text.

Once we receive the bank transfer and the information from you as requested above, we will manually credit the amount to your fiat wallet as soon as possible.
