Under UK law, the Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulations 2017 (MLR 2017) requires Bitpanda UK to collect a minimum amount of information to identify and verify customers.
This is part of the Know Your Customer (KYC) process and helps to prevent money laundering and terrorist financing.
What do I have to do?
To use Bitpanda in the UK, you’ll need to:
- Answer a few short KYC questions;
- Provide the required documentation to verify your identity.
If you're a new customer, you will be asked to complete this verification when signing up.
If you created your Bitpanda account before 1 August 2025 and want to continue using the platform or access your funds, you must also complete the verification process: Learn more about how to verify your account.
Note: If you do not complete the verification, you won’t be able to access your funds on Bitpanda.
What if I cannot verify?
If you are unable to verify because you do not have an accepted ID document, or you do not wish to verify your account, please open a support ticket so we can assist you.
Is my data secure?
Yes. All data you provide is handled securely and with strict confidentiality. The verification process typically only takes a few minutes to complete.
Do I need to provide anything else?
In some cases, Bitpanda may request proof of funds as part of its regulatory obligations.
